Who is Captain Sir Tom Moore？ You've seen him on the television walking the length of his garden。 A frail elderly man， doing his bit at a time of crisis。 But he wasn't always like this。
From a childhood in the foothills of the Yorkshire Dales， Tom Moore grew up in a loving family， which wasn't without its share of tragedy。 It was a time of plenty and of want。 When the storm clouds of the Second World War threatened， he raised his hand and， like many of his generation， joined up to fight。
His war would take him from a country he had never left to a place which would steal his heart， India， and the Far East， to which he would return many years later to view the sight he had missed first time around: the distant peak of Everest。

Inspiring！Well written， heartfelt and full of life。 Captain Sir Tom makes me want to be a better person， he has inspired millions by his selflessness and humble attitude whilst becoming an international icon and doing so much to help raise such a staggering amount of money， with the creation of the foundation his legacy will live on for generations。

What a true hero and a legend of a man。 Loved reading his life in his words。 The start of the book and the end of the book is what gripped me the most but hearing about the war and the history of this country was also good。 Probably something I wouldn’t normally read but I’m glad I did。 Well done captain Tom Moore！You were truly one of a kind

I don't read many autobiographies but this was on my list and after Captain Tom sadly passed away， I picked it up to read。He didn't have a particularly easy life but there is no doubt about the absolute love he had for his family and close friends。 Such an exciting life and he obviously experiencesd some amazing things and saw many changes in his 100 years。 He also "got on with it" and sacrificed so much to the detriment of his own happiness， never complaining 。。。 I feel a good few people in thi I don't read many autobiographies but this was on my list and after Captain Tom sadly passed away， I picked it up to read。He didn't have a particularly easy life but there is no doubt about the absolute love he had for his family and close friends。 Such an exciting life and he obviously experiencesd some amazing things and saw many changes in his 100 years。 He also "got on with it" and sacrificed so much to the detriment of his own happiness， never complaining 。。。 I feel a good few people in this day & age could take a leaf out of his book！It's very well written and he is an inspiration to all。 What an amazing man。 Thank you for your service， Sir。 。。。more

Very well written。Had to finish the book on 2nd February 2021。 It seemed right to stay up late to do so。 I couldn’t continue to read it after his death。 He died from Covid - how ironic and cruel is that？May he rest in peace。
